Three Cornwall restaurants have been featured on the Michelin Guide for 2023.
Outlaw's Fish Kitchen and Outlaw's New Road in Port Isaac both retained their Michelin star for this year's guide alongside Paul Ainsworth at No.6 in Padstow.
The prestigious stars were unveiled at the Michelin Guide Ceremony Great Britain & Ireland Guide 2023 on Monday, March 27.
The full guide can be found on the website here, and this is what Michelin had to say about the three Cornwall establishments.
What did the Michelin Guide say about the Cornwall restaurants
In discussing Outlaw's Fish Kitchen the guide said: "The characterful Cornish fishing village of Port Isaac is known best as the setting for TV series Doc Martin, but it’s also well-known in the culinary world as the home of this intimate 15C fisherman’s cottage with low ceilings, wonky walls and tasty seafood menus.
"It stands right on the harbourside – a great vantage point for watching the day boats unloading their catch, shortly before the fish arrives at the restaurant’s doors.
"Quality and sustainability are the watchwords here and the daily changing tasting menu – designed for sharing – is dictated not only by the seasons but the weather too.
"While the combinations are kept simple they bring together bold flavours which really set the dishes alive, yet cleverly still manage to keep the spotlight on the main ingredient."
On Tripadvisor Outlaw's Fish Kitchen has received a 4.5/5 score from 1,218 reviews.
Meanwhile, when depicting Outlaw's New Road the guide said: "He might not be Cornish by birth but Nathan Outlaw has certainly made Cornwall his home – and he’s been warmly welcomed by the locals.
"His smart yet laid-back restaurant sits in a great position on the headland, just a stone’s throw from the harbour, and the view from the first floor dining room is stunning.
"There are few other chefs in the country who understand and execute seafood cookery as well as Nathan and his name has become synonymous with ultra-fresh fish and shellfish.
"His tasting menu is guided by the daily catch and the refined, unfussy dishes feature classical combinations which keep the focus firmly on the main ingredient. Service strikes the perfect balance of professional yet personable."
Impressively Outlaw's New Road has earned a 5/5 overall score on Tripadvisor, which it has got from 1,139 reviews.
Finally, Paul Ainsworth at No.6 is another establishment that is well-received on Tripadvisor, having achieved an impressive 5/5 score from 3,282 reviews.
The guide said: "A delightful Georgian townhouse on a narrow harbour backwater plays host to Paul Ainsworth’s restaurant.
"The small first floor bar-lounge has a clubby, masculine feel, while the cosy, intimate dining room has a slightly funky vibe.
"All of the tables have a view into the kitchen and diners are encouraged to step inside and talk to the chefs after their meal.
"Service is friendly and enthusiastic and the well-versed team strive to make your visit a memorable one."
