The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for "strong winds" which are set to affect Cornwall on Thursday, March 30.
The warning covers the entirety of the county and will last from 9 pm on Thursday to 12 pm on Friday, March 31.
In a statement, the Met Office said: "Strong winds may affect parts of southern England and south Wales during Thursday evening and Friday morning."
What do the different Met Office weather warnings mean?
In terms of what to expect with the yellow weather warning the Met Office stated:
- Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely
- Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
On the Falmouth Met Office page wind gust speeds will go above 40mph from 8 pm on Thursday evening.
This is not expected to let up overnight and in the early hours of Friday morning, with a high of 47mph being reached at 10 am.
Once the weather warning time is finished at 12 pm the wind gust speed will remain above 40mph at first and will eventually settle down to the low thirties by the end of the day.
