A POPULAR pub in Truro was the site of a road traffic collision earlier today after a car collided with an outside seating area
A road traffic collision took place at The Wig and Pen pub in Truro at around 15:48pm today (March 30), with one member of staff believed to have been taken to hospital.
A single appliance from Truro Fire Station attended the incident where firefighters assisted to make both the vehicle and the scene safe.
A spokesperson from the pub told The Packet that they couldn't comment at this time and that their focus was on their injured staff member.
The driver of the car and another person in the seated area sustained minor injuries and were checked over by ambulance at the scene.
A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "One pumping appliance from Truro Fire Station responded to this incident.
"On arrival a single vehicle road traffic collision was discovered.
"Firefighters assisted to make the vehicle and scene safe."
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to Frances Street, Truro, at about 3.45pm on Thursday 30 March to reports of a car in collision with a building.
"A person in the seated area outside the building was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
"The driver of the car and another person in the seated area sustained minor injuries and were checked over by ambulance at the scene.
