The whole of Flushing village has been thanked for an "emotional" send-off for the previous owners Pete and Sandy Skinner.
The keys for the store have now been handed over to Laura Smyth who has appealed to customers to be gentle with her as she gets to grips with running the store.
Posting on Facebook Pete said: "Sandy and I would like to thank the whole of Flushing Village for the emotional send off in the Royal Standard on Friday evening.
"We both feel very humble by the amount of lovely cards and presents so many people have given us.
"As I said last night we wanted someone from the village to continue with the shop and are so glad Laura has now taken it and we both wish her every success.
"It was an absolute pleasure serving the village over the past ten years and have made so many life long friends. We will miss you all but won't be strangers and will make sure we visit the village.
"We both would like to specially thank Sue Lightfoot, Gary Martin and Ann Embury for arranging the lovely evening and surprise gifts."
Posting on Facebook with a picture of Sandy handing over the keys, Laura said: "I want to say a massive thank you to Sandy and Pete for making my dream come true of running the Flushing Village store.
"I know they have a very fond place in all your hearts and will be sorely missed. I hope I will do them proud. I look forward to meeting you all properly from tomorrow, I will be the panicked lunatic behind the counter, please be gentle with me!"
