The organisers of the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival have today announced Seasalt Cornwall, The Greenbank Hotel and Sharp’s Brewery as headline sponsors.
The festival will take place this year from June 16-18 and is now regarded as the largest free maritime music festival in Europe, with over 65,000 attending the event in 2022.
Supported by Falmouth Town Council, the festival also helps raise funds for the RNLI.
The jam-packed weekend has something for everyone, and features over 75 national and international groups performing across 25 venues, from intimate pubs and contemporary bars to open-air stages on historic quaysides.
Seasalt Cornwall have been a festival sponsor since 2014 and for the first time this year, will be hosting the main Discovery Quay (Events Square) stage. They have been involved in several aspects of the festival including designing the imaginative reusable cup, supporting with shanty merchandise, and inputting into the planning for the well-regarded festival.
The Greenbank Hotel are now in their fourth year as a festival sponsor and will once again be welcoming shanty fans to their iconic Greenbank Quay stage.
This waterside venue affords breathtaking views of Falmouth harbour and is always a huge draw for shanty groups and visitors alike.

The festival says it is "delighted" to welcome a new headline sponsor this year, Sharp’s Brewery. Founded in Rock in 1994, Sharp’s bring with them a range of award-winning products, including the UK's best-selling cask beer, Doom Bar.
The festival organisers are thrilled to welcome them on board for 2023.
“We’re delighted to welcome back Seasalt Cornwall and The Greenbank Hotel as headline festival sponsors again this year. Over the years, their support and commitment has seen the festival go from strength to strength”, says Richard Gates, Falmouth Town Manager and festival chair.
He added: “We’re also excited that Sharps Brewery will be coming on board as the third headline sponsor. They are a very natural fit for the festival given their company philosophy and their market-leading offer which we know will be enjoyed throughout the festival!”
