The Falmouth Cringe Festival has announced the release of its first slate of comedians for its second annual comedy event taking place this July.

The festival which takes place from July 6 to 9 in various local venues in Falmouth will feature a diverse line-up of comedic talent from across the UK.

This year's event will be opened this year by Kiri Pritchard McLean known for her appearances on ‘Have I Got News for You’ and ‘Live At the Apollo.'

Other notable comedians include a musical comedy double act from South London, 'Shelf', Irish comedian and podcaster, Alison Spittle and Rachel Fairburn a comedian and writer from Manchester who has been a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe since 2014 and has appeared on TV shows including 'Richard Osman’s House of Games.'

Falmouth Cringe co-director, Franciska Earle, said: “We’re a proud part of the movement to put Cornwall on the cultural map.

“The Falmouth Cringe is the first comedy festival of its kind in the South West.

“We held our inaugural comedy festival in June 2022 and bought 1,293 people together to have a giggle.”

Jules Mahony, co-director of Falmouth Cringe Festival said: “With last year’s festival being a great success, we are excited to bring more laughter and joy to Falmouth this summer.

“This is the first programme announcement – we have so many more exciting acts in the works this year!

“If you love live comedy, keep your eyes peeled for our full programme announcement. You won’t be disappointed.”

Tickets for the first slate of comedians announced at The Falmouth Cringe are on sale now, with a full programme announcement expected later this month.
