A pre-planning enquiry has been made to Cornwall Council about whether plans for an affordable housing-led development near Penzance would be acceptable.
Land off Cockwells Lane has been earmarked for nine homes to be built.
Under the plans five of the properties would be affordable, with four of them available for affordable rent and the other for shared ownership. The site is located near the A30 between Penzance and Hayle.
The homes would be a mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties. The affordable rent properties would include two three-bedroom homes and two two-bedroom homes and the shared ownership property would have three bedrooms. All four of the open market properties would have four bedrooms each.

It is indicated that there are currently 94 households on the housing waiting list in the parish.
Documents submitted as part of the pre-planning enquiry state: “This would provide a valuable contribution to the local housing stock and help meet a significant need within the parish.”
