Residents in Camborne will be able to have their say on the latest designs for plans to revitalise the town centre including a walk and cycle route update.

On Monday (April 24) an exhibition will take place to discuss the specific funding available to enhance streets and public space in Camborne.

Cornwall Council and Camborne Town Deal Board will be on hand to answer questions about the projects at the drop-in event taking place between 2pm and 7pm at Camborne Wesley Centre on Chapel Street.

The Camborne Renew and Lifecycle projects are two of the eleven capital regeneration projects to be funded by the Government’s Towns Fund through the Camborne Town Deal.

The Life Cycle project aims to encourage greener and healthier travel. It will provide an improved walking and cycling route in the town as part of the former Roskear Route, connection with Park Gerry and the Red River trail.

The Camborne Renew project seeks to stimulate the local economy and increase the frequency and duration of visits to the town centre by providing a greener and enhanced environment for shoppers, residents, visitors, and workers by reducing the volume of traffic.

Everyone is welcome to attend the exhibition and will be able to have their say by taking part in a survey between Monday, April 24 and Sunday, May 21. The survey will be available at https://letstalk.cornwall.gov.uk/camborne-renew

Paper versions are available at Camborne Library, Camborne Town Council and Cornwall Council’s Camborne office reception at Dolcoath.

Chair of the Town Deal Board, Val Dalley said: “I would like to encourage everyone, and especially younger people, to come and view the exciting improvements the Town Deal Fund will support to help create the Camborne of tomorrow.

“The team is keen to hear comments on the proposed designs to ensure they reflect as wide a range of local opinion as possible.”

Cllr Loud Gardner, Cornwall Council Portfolio holder for the Economy, said: “The Town Deal Fund is an exceptional opportunity to invigorate our local economy and support the transition to greener modes of transport.

“The projects Cornwall Council is delivering through the Town Deal aim to encourage healthier living and increase town centre footfall by creating a better, green visitor experience.”
