A Tesla driver has been banned from getting behind the wheel for six months after being caught speeding on the A390 three times.
Julian Hocking, 54 from Penpol, Feock was caught driving his electric car, produced by controversial Twitter owner and SpaceX owner Elon Musk, over the 30 mph limit on the A390 Tregolls Road on three different days.
He had already pleaded guilty on December 6 last year to the three offences but the case was deferred until this week to consider disqualification.
He appeared before Truro magistrates on Tuesday (April 19) when they told him the court found no new mitigating circumstances that would be sufficient to merit not disqualifying him.
Hocking was caught by a speed camera on the eastbound carriageway on June 14, 2022 exceeding a 30 mph speed limit in contravention of a local traffic order.
He was also caught travelling westbound on the same road on June 11 exceeding the 30mph speed limit and travelling eastbound exceeding the speed 30mph speed limit on May 30.
For the June 14 offence he was fined £310, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £93 and costs of £90.
He was also disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months. Disqualification was obligatory due to repeat offending.
His driving record was also endorsed with three penalty points.
His guilty plea taken into account when imposing sentence.
