Speaking after the service, Cllr Eva told the Packet: “Although I will miss the role as mayor it is time to stand aside for another to take my place and allow me to take a holiday and catch up with family and friends plus many neglected jobs around the house.”

It is expected that deputy mayor Kirstie Edwards will take over from Cllr Eva as the mayor when the next mayor making ceremony takes place on May 22.
She was voted mayor elect by fellow councillors recently.
