A SCHOOL in Cornwall has been shortlisted for recognition from a prestigious national educational award.
Truro High School has been shortlisted for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Setting of the Year category in the Tes Schools Awards 2023.
The awards, considered by many as the ‘Oscars’ of the education world, were announced in London earlier today with Truro High one of only eight schools shortlisted out of the many thousands of state and independent schools in the UK.
The school has been recognised for its work to provide a strong framework of social, physical and educational support to young children, many of whom had grown up during the pandemic with its particular challenges.
Head of Prep, Katie Hinks, said: “We are all absolutely delighted to be honoured in this way which reflects the amazing work that goes on in our EYFS department.
"We know the work they do is truly unique and special and provides a magical start to building those firm foundations which are so essential for creating a lifelong love of learning."
The winner will be announced at a ceremony in London in June.
