Cornwall Air Ambulance has announced that its one-day blue light festival is making a return this summer.

Helifest takes place on Sunday, July 15 and promises a day of great music and fun to celebrate the hard work of Cornwall’s vital emergency services.

Teams from Devon & Cornwall Police, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service, RNLI, Cornwall Blood Bikes and the paramedics and the pilots of Cornwall Air Ambulance will each showcase their crucial work to support people across the Duchy.

Alongside this, as the event returns to Padstow, there will be live local music, the return of its popular circus, lots of children’s entertainment, and local food traders on site.

Last year, more than 2,000 people turned out to enjoy the first event in perfect weather with visitors being able to see the charity’s AW169 helicopter up close for the first time as well as meet some of the crew.

Fundraising Officer, Rob Foster said: “We’re excited to be bringing Helifest back to the people of Cornwall.

“2022 was the first event of its kind and was well attended.

“This year we are hoping to build on that success and make it even bigger and better.

“The festival allows you to learn about Cornwall’s blue light services, have fun, try some great food, and hear some talented local musicians, all while supporting Cornwall Air Ambulance.

“It’s your support that helps to make sure our helicopter can keep flying and the crew can continue to save lives.”
