People visiting Helston Railway during the bank holiday weekend were transported back to the 1940s.
The much-loved railway at Trevarno Farm, Prospindick held its ‘Return to the 40’s’ two-day event, where volunteers dressed up in 1940s clothing, with memorabilia from the era on display.
There were lots to see and do during the event including Morris Dancing, Maypole Dancing, live music from Red Apple Honeys and a WWII mini cameo including rifles firing blanks.
Visitors were also able to take a trip down the newly laid track bed between Truthall Hall and Helston on a jeep.

General manager of Helston Railway, Colin Savage tells the Packet how the event went. He said: “It was a good weekend, very successful.
“There were lots of things to do and see, and the singers from the Red Apple Honeys were great at singing 1940s songs.
“It was very well attended.”
The railway has announced a line-up of events over the next few months including Railway Dog Fun Day on July 16, the Heritage Transport Weekend on September 9 and 10, and Pirate Day on August 23, 24, 27 and 28.
Helston Railway is open to the public from March to October and offers a variety of train rides, including a Santa Special in December. The railway also has a number of other attractions, including a museum, a gift shop, and a cafe.
