POLICE in Cornwall have said their enquiries are ongoing after a woman was reportedly assaulted in two different areas of a town in Cornwall last night.
Police were called to the Loggans area of Hayle at 1.30am this morning after a report that an altercation had taken place which resulted in a woman being assaulted.
When officers arrived at the scene, it was further reported that a separate altercation had taken place in the Copperhouse area of Hayle earlier in the evening.
The female victim has sustained multiple injuries and has been checked by ambulance staff, according to police who also said they are carrying out house-to-house enquries and CCTV reviews in order to establish the circumstances of the incident.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at 1.30am today to the Loggans area of Hayle following a report that an altercation had taken place and a woman had been assaulted.
"On arrival it was further reported that an altercation had also taken place earlier in the evening in the Copperhouse area of Hayle.
"The woman has sustained multiple injuries and was checked by ambulance staff.
"Officers are carrying out enquiries including house-to-house and CCTV reviews to establish the circumstances of the incident.
"Anyone who was in the area overnight and may have information, dashcam or CCTV footage, which may assist enquiries is asked to report it to police by calling 101 or via our website quoting log 55 of 5/6/23."
