POLICE in Cornwall have announced an arrest has been made after a woman was assaulted in two separate areas of a town in Cornwall early yesterday morning.
Devon and Cornwall police have arrested a 34-year-old local man in connection with an assault on a woman in two different locations in Hayle early Monday morning.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Following enquiries in the Hayle area, officers have arrested a 34-year-old local man in connection to the incident.
"He remains in police custody at this time.
"Police enquiries are ongoing in relation to this investigation."
Police were called to the Loggans area of Hayle at 1.30am on Monday, June 5 after a report that an altercation had taken place which resulted in a woman being assaulted.

When officers arrived at the scene, it was further reported that a separate altercation had taken place in the Copperhouse area of Hayle earlier in the evening.
The female victim has sustained multiple injuries and has been checked by ambulance staff, according to police who also said they are carrying out house-to-house enquiries and CCTV reviews in order to establish the circumstances of the incident.
Anyone who was in the area overnight and may have information, dashcam or CCTV footage, which may assist enquiries is asked to report it to police by calling 101 or via our website quoting log 55 of 5/6/23."
