Fowey will welcome a new flapjack shop next week which will sell a variety of flavoured flapjacks including ones suitable for people who are gluten-free.
It’s the second Flapjackery store to open in Cornwall. Founders Carol Myott and Sally Jenkin who both share a passion for home baking, opened their first Cornish shop in St Ives in 2022.
Like St Ives, the Fowey shop will support its local RNLI with Fowey Lifeboat Station the recipient of its charitable donations.
The shop will donate 50p or £1.50 to every Fowey-specific box of three or six flapjacks and 20p for every customer who decides not to use a recyclable box.

Based at Tavistock in West Devon, Flapjackery is renowned for its different flavours, including cherry bakewell, clotted cream fudge flapjack, cream tea flapjack and salted caramel brownie.
Each flapjack is packed with British oats with toppings sourced from the West Country including Flapjackery’s award-winning flapjack which is made with cream from Cornwall’s Trewithen Dairy and Freda’s Peanut Butter made in St Neot.
It’s an exciting time for founder Carol Myott, who said: “We’re hugely excited to be opening in Fowey, a gorgeous town with a bustling centre.
“This is our seventh shop opening for Flapjackery and we’re really pleased to be supporting Fowey RNLI. It’s a charity we are particularly fond of – we also support the local lifeboat stations at Minehead and Plymouth too.”
Carol adds: “Flapjacks are great for every occasion too, from being the perfect accompaniment for a bracing walk along the South West coast path to a treat with afternoon tea.”
The Fowey store will be managed by Sarah Gibson who comes with plenty of experience having previously worked in Flapjackery shops in Plymouth and in St Ives.
“We are delighted to be welcoming Sarah back to the team,” said Carol. “She has lots of experience which is great as we love to integrate with the local community and get involved with lots of different things, from supporting a local charity to always dressing our windows according to special events in the local area.”
The Fowey Flapjackery shop will open on 13 Fore Street, on June 22. For more information, visit www.flapjackery.co.uk
