You might want to put the sun cream away and dig out your coats and umbrellas this weekend – a thunderstorm is on its way!
Cornwall has welcomed the glorious warmer weather over the past few weeks with some of us embracing the rays and visiting the beach.
However, this weekend will be completely different.
The Met Office announced a yellow weather warning has been in place from 12am on Sunday, June 18 until 11.59pm that night.
The announcement from the Met Office reads: “Heavy rain and thunderstorms on Sunday will bring a chance of disruption to parts of England and Wales.
“Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
“There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, damaging some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail, or strong wind.”
The post continues: “There is a chance of delays and cancellations to train and bus services and a slight chance that power to other services, homes and businesses could be lost.
“There is also a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads.”
