Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious accident at Carnon Downs left a cyclist with life threatening injuries.
Police were called to Carnon Downs at around 10.03am on Saturday reporting a collision between the cyclist and a white Land Rover Discovery.
The accident happened on Forth Coth at the junction with Tregye Road, Carnon Downs.
The Land Rover had collided with the cyclist in his 50s from the area and sustained serious life threatening injuries. The people in the Land Rover were unharmed and stopped at the scene.
The road was closed for three and a half hours while an investigation was carried out by the roads policing team.
The cyclist remains in hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.
Police would particularly like to hear from anyone who may have Dashcam footage of the incident.
In a statement Devon and Cornwall Police said: "At around 10.03am on Saturday 24th June 2023 a call was made to Police reporting a road traffic collision on Forth Coth at the junction with Tregye Road, Carnon Downs.

"A white Landrover Discovery collided with a pedal cyclist. As a result of the collision, the cyclist, a male in his 50's from the local area, sustained serious life threatening injuries. The vehicle occupants were unharmed and stopped at the scene.
"Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the collision to investigate and establish how the collision occurred. The road was closed whilst this investigation took place."
Witnesses are requested to contact Devon & Cornwall Police on 101 with information quoting log number 353 24th June 2023. Police would particularly like to hear from anyone who may have Dashcam footage of the incident.
