People working from home in Helston are being asked if they would be interested in a new flexible working hub in the town.
Helston Town Council is launching a survey from Monday July 3, to assess demand from local small businesses in Helston and the surrounding areas for developing coworking space in the Guildhall restoration and reimagining plans.
The Workbox, like other work hubs, is a workspace that provides services to members as and when they need them – an alternative to taking a separate office away from home.
Users can drop in to work, meet and access services, or can make use of virtual spaces. They can also be centres of collaboration and networking.

The people who might want to use a Helston Workbox could include homeowners, professionals/freelancers, and other micro businesses in all sectors.
Potentially, the basement of the Guildhall building (behind the current toilets area) could be opened and relaunched as a Workbox to help businesses and remote.
However, workers who are interested in using the working hub facility will have to pay £130 plus VAT per month.
There are already two Workbox bases in Cornwall; Truro and Penzance have welcomed hubs.
There will be a public consultation in the Autumn where people can find out more and see the designs first-hand.
The Town Council would bid for external funds to make such a development happen which would also involve looking at relocating the public toilets as part of this wider regeneration.
The Town Mayor of Helston Cllr Miles Kenchington said: “We are hoping that local micro and home-based businesses will want to tell us their views on this potential scheme for the Guildhall lower ground floor and in doing so, we can build strong links with the business community.
"A Helston Workbox would bring new people into town to work and this would help increase the dwell time and demand for shops and services.”
There are also plans to relocate the toilets from the Guildhall to another location nearby, making them more accessible in the process, with the hope of including a Changing Places toilet.
