The quay was closed to the public after part of the wall underneath the concrete pathway collapsed as a dog walker walked over it oblivious to what was happening.
The immediate aftermath of the collapse on April 24 was captured by eyewitness Theresa Lynn who saw it happen. Posting the picture she said: “Hayle Harbour collapsed just now, saw it happening and a lady and dog walked over it oblivious to it.”
Posting an update on Facebook, Hayle Harbour said: "We're pleased to announce that South Quay is undergoing a partial reopening after recent developments.
"As part of the ongoing safety measures, the fencing has been adjusted to contain the main area affected by the collapse.
"However, we want to emphasize that the area is still fenced off and strictly off-limits for entry. Your safety remains our top priority. We kindly ask everyone to be vigilant, respect the closures, and act with caution when visiting the vicinity.
"We appreciate your cooperation as we work towards a comprehensive resolution. Stay tuned for further updates, and thank you for your understanding during this time. Together, we'll ensure a safe and thriving community."
