A CARE home in Falmouth has helped make one of its resident's dreams come true after reuniting her with the sea.

Kay Stevenson-Bromley, one of the residents at Falmouth Court Care Home, had wanted to return to the seas on a yacht again having previously sailed around the world in her younger years.

Kay has lived at Falmouth Court for six months and is described as being loved by staff and residents alike. Naturally, staff at the home said they were delighted to be a part of making her dream come true.

Haley Reeve-Larson, General Manager at Falmouth Court, arranged the charter of yacht and opted to take Kay, who was also accompanied by Pat Brown and Gerry Stock, and took the tree out into Falmouth Bay to watch the air show on Armed Forces Day.

Hugh Dickinson, Home Services Advisor and Haley Reeve-Larson, General Manager were also determined to help Kay recreate a picture of Kay sitting on the bow of the yacht taken roughly 45 years ago.

In response to this wonderful surprise, Kay, said: “It was such an amazing day. The team helping me to recreate my picture from my earlier years was such fun and something I will treasure. It is such an amazing feeling to know that such a loving group of people care so much about me that they helped me to live out a dream – and I didn’t even ask."

Haley Reeve-Larson, General Manager at the home, said: “We believe that every moment is worth cherishing.  We want everyone we care for to know how important they are to us here at Falmouth Court.

"It is testament to the hard work and dedication of the team here in making our residents’ dreams come true.  It was wonderful to see how happy Kay, Pat and Gerry were – and the staff loved being a part of this as well.”
