Cornwall's biggest one-day agricultural show returns this month with a new traffic flow system to prevent traffic issues from happening again following last year's event.

Stithians Show will take place on Monday, July 17, 2023, and this year will celebrate its 185th year.

This year, organisers have made significant changes to traffic flow to prevent the gridlock that occurred in 2022.

As previously reported in the Packet, visitors driving to the show were stuck for hours trying to get into the event with organisers blaming a combination of good weather and attendance numbers.

Motorists aired their frustrations on social media, with one member of the public writing: "Need a one way system for next year. Or dedicated lane for animal transport."

However, committee members have revealed a new traffic flow system is now in place for this year. They said: "The committee would like to inform all competitors that significant changes have been put in place to ensure the traffic into the showground is smoother, with a new entrance into the horse section and a new traffic control team."
