AN actor from the award-winning BBC sitcom This Country has had to postpone his visit to a charity shop in Cornwall but is already making plans to rearrange his visit.
Paul Cooper, who plays the character of Martin ‘dirty peeper’ Mucklowe in British sitcom This Country, was hoping to visit and volunteer at Your Voice, Cornwall Re-Loved Boutique in Helston this week, to show his support of the organisation.
However, in a video message posted on Your Voice Cornwall’s Facebook page Paul said: “I was meant to be doing some work in Your Voice Cornwall on Thursday, but unfortunately, It’s going to have to be postponed until next month sadly.”
Natasha Long, founder of Your Voice, which supports mental health, told the Packet: “We’re looking at around about the same time, but we haven’t confirmed yet. It’s so gutting but Paul’s been so, so apologetic, bless him.”
In the sitcom, Paul plays the villainous role of the main character Kerry Mucklowe’s (played by Daisy May Cooper) dad who treats her horribly, but Kerry believes he still loves her.
Previously Natasha told the Packet: “Paul and I have been friends on Instagram for a while now and he’s been a supporter of Your Voice for over a year.
"Previously he’s donated signed books to us for our raffle, and he’s always said anything he can do to help, he would.
"He’s a huge supporter of mental health and does a lot of work for organisations that support people who have a hoarding disorder.”
“I’m really excited as I’m a long-time fan of the show, as are my kids. And the fact that he supports mental health disorders is a huge bonus.”
Your Voice had shared more details about Paul’s visit before it was postponed, saying: "Paul Cooper, aka Martin 'dirty peeper' Mucklowe will be visiting us and throwing in some hours to show his support of our organisation.
“We're expecting his flight, courtesy of Martin Mucklowe Airlines, to land around 10am / 10.30am and can't wait to meet the man who, 'wrote Wonderwall on the back of a beer mat in the space of ten minutes!'
“Grab an autograph or a picture for a donation and meet the Cotswolds favourite ‘peeper’.”
Updates on the reschedueld visit can be found on the Your Voice, Cornwall Re-Loved Boutique’s Facebook page.
