More than 40 ex-pupils from an old school in Helston have met at their usual meeting spot to celebrate a very special birthday.
On Tuesday, July 11, The Friends of Helston Green School, were joined by some new faces as they gathered for coffee and lunch at the Wheal Dream for coffee and lunch.
The date was arranged specially to coincide with the ex-teacher of the Green School, Betty Pascoe’s 90th birthday.
Members of the group each contributed cards, flowers and two vouchers, one for Trevena Cross Garden Centre and the other for Wheal Dream.
The presentation of gifts to Betty was presented by the organisers Gloria Butterworth (nee Curnow) and Wendy Bate (nee Ould).
Betty who was known to many of the pupils at Miss Thomas attended the school as a pupil until she passed the exam to move to Helston Grammar School.
