Helston Town Council has confirmed that the newly planned Community Banking Hub will be based in the town centre.
The Community Banking Hub, which is due to open in around seven months’ time, will be open Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
Services available in the banking hub will contain counter services, consultation rooms and a bereavement service. Members of the public will also be able to pre-book appointments and access their bank whenever they need to, regardless of which bank is on duty staffing.
However, the project manager for Cash Access UK has yet to reveal the exact location of the new hub but has assured members of Helston Town Council that "it will be in the town centre" and would typically have a six to ten-year lease.

Towards the completion date of the new hub, leaflets and FAQ factsheets will be sent to the council, which can then be circulated with members of the public.
Cash Access has also revealed they will recruit a communications manager who will attend a full council meeting in the future.
A community banking hub is a shared banking space, like traditional bank branches but available to everyone. They provide essential banking services including counter services run by the major banks and the Post Office.
Banking hubs will offer basic counter services, allowing people to withdraw cash, deposit cash and cheques and make balance enquiries.
A community banker will also be available so that people can speak to their own bank about more complex banking issues they may need help with. A different bank will be present on each day of the week.
In other locations with banking hubs, these evolve to meet the needs of the communities using them, as the team learns more about the services people need and adapt to the changing ways people are using cash and banking services.
There are a range of existing services that are being expanded or others that have been recently launched, including:
• Free ATMs
• Post Office counter services
• Deposit/SME business services
• Cashback without a purchase
