Over midway through the Falmouth 2023 cruiseship season in August the port will welcome ships having Scandinavian and Icelandic ports in their itineraries.
On Friday, August 4 Silverseas Cruises’ Silver Moon arrives at the end of her cruise which saw her depart from Reykjavik, Iceland with calls at other Icelandic port, Stornaway and Irish Sea ports.
Following in her wake is the Sevenseas Splendor, another ultra-luxurious vessel arriving from Cobh as she nears the end of her cruise from Copenhagen to Southampton.
These calls highlight the strategic position of Falmouth for overnight steaming times between Cobh, Fishguard and Southampton in relation to this port.
Princess Cruises’ Coral Class Island Princess 92,000 tons 294 metres returns for another visit on August 10th as the ship begins her 16 days Southampton to Southampton cruise to Iceland and Greenland. The Coral Class was purposely designed to go through the Panama Canal.
The 143,000 tons Regal Princess makes a welcome return on August 25th.Calling in from Southampton the ship will be on her ’12 days round-trip British Isles with Orkney Islands’ cruise.
The 330 metre long vessel can accommodate 3,560 passengers with 1,346 crew.
Completing the calls for August is the Spirit of Adventure from Saga Cruises cruising in south coast waters on a ‘six days round-trip Cornish Coastlines and the Isles of Scilly’ calling at Tresco, Falmouth, Fowey, Portland and Dover.
Sevenseas Splendor, Island Princess and Regal Princess will all anchor in the bay for tendering operations into the Docks - weather permitting.
