The Top House Inn has announced the date of this year’s highly anticipated Lizard Shanty Festival.
The festival, which is in aid of the Lizard Lifeboat, will take place on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
Hosts The Top House Inn at Lizard Village has promised a day filled with fun, music and surprises. The 12-hour event will start at midday and finish at midnight.
A spokesperson said: "As a community-driven establishment, the Top House is committed to giving back to the community and supporting causes close to their hearts.
“We are proud to organise this festival to raise funds for the Lizard Lifeboat, a local organisation that tirelessly saves lives at sea.
“With the Lizard Shanty Festival, we aim to bring together the community in a celebration of Cornish folk music, dance, camaraderie, and support for a worthy cause.
“Throughout the day, people can expect an array of exciting activities, including live performances by talented local shanty artists, delicious food and drinks, and a variety of surprises that will make this festival an unforgettable experience.
“We have some great acts confirmed including Will Keating and John ‘the banjo’ Dowling, The Cadgwith Singers, The Press Gang, Hit and Miss, Toby Webb – the list goes on.”

However, to be able to make the event a success, the Top House, along with St Austell Brewery, is actively seeking additional sponsors to get involved and to support the festival.
The pub said that by becoming a sponsor, companies and individuals will be able to showcase their support for a worthwhile cause and gain exposure to a wide audience of festivalgoers and community members.
For more information on sponsorship opportunities or any other inquiries, contact Andy at The Top House Inn at 01326 450098 or via email at info@thetophouseinn.co.uk
The Top House Inn will welcome all contributions and support that will help make this event a successful and memorable one.
