Thousands of people are expected to descend on Falmouth next week as its popular annual event returns for 2023.
Falmouth Week kicks off this Friday, August 4 and runs until Saturday, August 12, with a firework display, carnival, nightly live music and even a circus workshop among the events to look forward to.
Listed below are dates, times, and places where events will be happening.
Friday, August 4
The Pink Wig Parade
Back for another year and kicking off Falmouth Week festivities is the Pink Wig Night. The event will start at 6.45pm from the Greenbank Hotel and pass through The Moor and the town before heading to The Waterfront at Church Street car park.
Women and children are welcome to join the parade, however, the marquee is a ticketed-over 18s ladies' night only. Tickets can be purchased from www.pinkwigevents.org.uk.
Saturday, August 5
Falmouth Marching Carnival and Falmouth Soul Sensation
Falmouth Rugby Club will open from 11am on Saturday with registrations for the carnival opening at 3pm and closing at 5pm.
Falmouth Marching Carnival will leave the rugby club at 6.30pm where it will head down Killigrew Street and through The Moor, Webber Street, Market Street, Church Street and Arwenack Street.
Falmouth Art Gallery is also running a free family-friendly workshop between 3pm and 5pm where guests can make their own knights’ helmets from foil and other materials before joining the carnival.
Falmouth Soul Sensation will be performing on the main stage at The Waterfront, Church Street car park from 7.30pm.
Falmouth Soul was formed in 2007 to give opportunities to young singers and musicians to gain experience working in a large band environment. The band has been booked back at almost every venue it has played.
Sunday, August 6
The Mariachis, Live Music on The Moor
The Mariachis first rose to fame as the official band of the Doritos TV commercials singing pop classics with a Mexican twist. Highlights of their career are being chosen by Michael Bublé as his support act on his 2022 UK tour, and Rod Stewart as a support act for his UK stadium tours. The doors open for their performance at 7pm at the Waterfront, Church Street car park.

As well as music from The Mariachis, there will also be live performances on The Moor between 12pm and 3pm from Tran Francois, Charlotte Rotherham, Jules Berry and Zalick.
Monday, August 7
Lightning Seeds, Army climbing wall, live music and arts and crafts
Starting at 10am at The Moor, Falmouth Art Gallery is running a series of art and craft activities until 1pm. Guests will be able to try their hand at block printing on fabric inspired by the work of William Morris. Places are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Events Square will welcome members of the Army who will bring their climbing wall. The activity is free of charge and will be supervised by trained army personnel. Please note, there are certain requirements and height restrictions that must be adhered to.
There will be more music on The Moor on Monday. Live music will be performed between 12pm and 3pm and will include performances by Rachel Watson, The Indictives, and Rosalie James.
At 7pm, Ian Broudie and the Lightning Seeds will perform at The Waterfront. In 33 years, Broudie has sold a lot of records including a million copies of the 1994 album ‘Jollification’ – an album that, alongside anthems including the famous English football anthem, ‘Three Lions’ has established him as a ‘songwriter par excellence’.

Tuesday, August 8
Falmouth Rocks, live music, arts, and crafts
Falmouth Art Gallery will be hosting a ‘design your own coat of arms’ activity between 10am and 1pm at The Moor. Again, places are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Live music will be performed between 12pm and 3 pm at The Moor. Performers include Thom Pod, Bob Seymour, Martin Skewes and Paul Simmons.
At 7pm, Falmouth will rock as tribute bands including AC / DC UK and Guns 2 Ross take the stage at The Waterfront.
AC/DC UK are one of Europe’s most electrifying tributes to AC/DC. The iconic Angus and Brian chemistry is organically delivered as the tribute band performs the biggest hits alongside a few fan favourites at every show.
Guns 2 Roses have appeared alongside Brian May, Status Quo, Steel Panther, Lady Gaga, Duff McKagen, Steven Adler and Gilby Clarke. The tribute band is the longest-running, closest looking and most internationally Guns ‘n’ Roses tribute band in the world. They also have a close association with Guns ‘n’ Roses themselves.

Wednesday, August 9
The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club, RNLI on Events Square, arts and crafts on The Moor
Another day of things to do and see taking place during the middle of the week events.
RNLI Falmouth Fun Day will feature much-loved local charities including the RNLI, the Seal Sanctuary and Cornwall Wildlife Trust and more. More details have yet to be announced on this event however, it will be taking place on Events Square.
Falmouth Art Gallery is running a series of arts & crafts activities on The Moor from 10am – 1pm.
Using air-drying clay, come and try your hand at making your own magic charm.
Again, places are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club will take centre stage at The Waterfront from 7pm.
From Red Dwarf to Robot Wars to Radio 6 and Radio 2 via the cobbles of Coronation Street, Charles’ career has seen him transform from a respected actor to musical icon with twenty years of broadcasting under his belt!
There will be no Red Arrows flying display this year, due to the team appearing at the national Armed Forces Day event in Falmouth in June.
Thursday, August 10
The Beat feat. Rankin Jnr and Arts & Crafts on The Moor
Falmouth Art Gallery will once again be opening a workshop on The Moor. This time, they will help members of the public make headdresses out of cards and paper. The workshop starts at 10am and ends at 1pm.
Doors open at 7pm on The Waterfront for The Beat feat. Rankin Jnr. The SKA band's debut studio album Just Can’t Stop went Gold in England and included the now-cult single Mirror in The Bathroom. The band’s live performances and clever blend of personal and political lyrics continue to make them stars to this day.

A Night of Queen & Fleetwood Bac, Falmouth Week Fireworks, Arts & Crafts on The Moor
Falmouth Art Gallery is running a series of arts & crafts activities on The Moor from 10am – 1pm.
Come and try your hand at making your own brass rubbing inspired by Medieval Knights.
Places are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Bohemians, established in 1996, re-enact the glory days of Queen including the Craziness of the 70s and the Magic of the 80’s proving themselves to be the most dynamic and exciting Queen Tribute Band currently touring.
They have performed all over the UK, Europe and the World at football stadiums, festivals, theatres and other prestigious venues.
Fleetwood Bac is the world’s first and best Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band, endorsed by Mick Fleetwood himself, the only Mac tribute to authentically replicate the classic ‘Rumours’ line-up.

The Falmouth Week Firework display will commence at 10pm on Friday, August 10. The display will take place over Falmouth Harbour.
In the case of inclement weather, the firework display will be moved to Saturday 12th August.
Saturday, August 12
Comic and Movie Fest, and 80s - 00s Night
Comic and Movie Fest is back this year with a new venue, the Princess Pavilion and a two-day extravaganza on August 12 and 13.

The 80s - 00s Night commences at 7pm at the Waterfront, Church Street car park.
Lemar initially rose to fame after finishing third on the first series of the British talent show Fame Academy and was later signed to Sony BMG. He’s gone on to release five studio albums, three of which are certified platinum or double platinum by the British Phonographic Industry!
Betty Boo is a Brit and Ivor Novello award-winning singer/songwriter/producer from West London. After a chance meeting in McDonald's on Shepherd’s Bush Green, she ended up supporting Public Enemy on tour in the US with her Hip Hop trio The She Rockers.
Judge Jules is one DJ that has been there, done it, and done it all again. For almost three decades Judge Jules has led the way in the world of dance music.

- There will also be other attractions taking place throughout the week on Event’s Square including a mini carousel on August 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11.
Between Monday, 7 and Friday 11, there will be a Eurofighter / Typhoon Simulator and on Wednesday, August 9 the Actions Sports Tour which is sponsored by The Greenbank Hotel will also take place.
