A NEW collaboration between Newquay Business Improvement (BID)’s Love Newquay and Boardmasters Festival will see additional exposure for 16 local businesses via their inclusion on the popular Boardmasters festival app.
Newquay BID is encouraging all Newquay businesses to optimise all additional business opportunities over the busiest week of the year for the destination and those who have been selected to be part of the Boardmasters mobile phone app will have additional ways to promote themselves directly to the festival attendees.
According to Newquay BID, These businesses will also benefit from additional social media posts and campaigns on the BID’s Love Newquay social media platforms in the run-up to, and during, the Boardmasters week.
Newquay BID approached Boardmasters with a set of collaboration ideas last autumn and BID Manager Mark Warren said: "All around the UK, BIDs and town and city organisers are working desperately hard to put on footfall-driving events of their own.
"Yet here in Newquay we have the annual gift of the ready-made Boardmasters.
"It’s such a fun week and our town centre, as well as our beaches and surrounding areas, are filled with people of all ages who are either experiencing our resort for the first time or returning as regular festivalgoers."
"This year, through our inaugural Love Newquay collaboration, all kinds of cafes, bars, hotels and activity providers have a direct connection with all the festivalgoers and their families – allowing them to come up with bespoke deals, discounts, packages and offers and drive extra footfall and vital profit.
"This is just the first year and we’re hoping to work with the Boardmasters team year-on-year to expand this initiative and drive other business-beneficial concepts for those within Newquay BID."
Participating businesses include bars and cafes such as Palm Bay, 12 Beach Road, Atlantic View Café, Box & Barber, The Old Counting House, RetroBlast Coffee, Koffi & Crowst, Freddo’s ice cream parlour, The Stable and Brew and Tattoo.
Surf schools and Newquay activity providers are set to showcase the very best of the town’s ‘H2O opportunities’, alongside surf shops, with businesses such as Newquay Activity Centre, Emoceanl Surf, Fistral Beach Surf School, Sunset Surf, Escape Surf School and the Wave Project offering taster sessions and lessons at discounted prices as part of the app options.
Mark Warren added: "We’re encouraging all Newquay businesses to think and plan now for this optimised trading period. Forward-thinking businesses who consider how they can maximise the phenomenal extra footfall will always win, and we’re here to support and help them do that."
