One person has been airlifted to hospital following a serious crash on the main Helston to Penzance road this afternoon.
The A394 was closed at Breage following the collision at 2.40pm, which involved a motorcyclist.
However, the road has now reopened, as of 4.45pm.
A force incident manager for Devon and Cornwall Police has now confirmed that a motorcyclist was involved in the incident.
However, he refused to comment at this time on unconfirmed reports locally that a pedestrian was also involved in the incident.
He did say that "an individual been taken to hospital" via air ambulance.
Police, the ambulance service and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service were all called to the scene at 2.40pm, with traffic being diverted through Breage village.
Cornwall Air Ambulance was also called, with a police force incident manager saying earlier: “The helicopter has been dispatched and it’s looking as though potentially serious injuries.”
Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact police via 101 or the force website, quoting log number 594 of 5/8/2023.
Traffic monitoring service INRIX is reporting that traffic has returned to normal on the road, placing the collision as between Troon Row and Trewithick Road.
A further statement from Devon and Cornwall Police is expected later today or tomorrow morning, subject to operational demands.
