It has now been confirmed that two men were airlifted to hospital on Saturday following a collision on the main Helston to Penzance road.

Police have also confirmed that the incident at Breage involved a motorcyclist and a pedestrian, both of which were injured as a result of the crash.

Emergency services were called at 2.40pm to the A394 at Breage, with a helicopter from Cornwall Air Ambulance subsequently scrambled.

Two men, both in their 20s, were airlifted to Derriford Hospital.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “The male pedestrian sustained a serious leg injury and the male motorcyclist, a serious arm injury.

“Both casualties, who are in their 20s, were airlifted to Derriford Hospital.”

The road was closed for around two hours, before reopening to traffic again at around 4.45pm.

During this time traffic was diverted through Breage village and surrounding back roads.

Traffic monitoring service INRIX placed the collision as between Troon Row and Trewithick Road.

Police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision, with officers asking for any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, to contact them.
