A POPULAR beach cafe has announced it is now under new ownership.
Gylly Beach Café has been bought by Healeys Cider after Vickery Holman handled the sale for the previous long-standing owners.
The business has transferred from long-term ownership to become part of the growing Cyderhouse Co Ltd, a new subsidiary of Healeys Cyder, off a guide price of £3.5 million.
Speaking on behalf of the previous owners, Michael Easton of Vickery Holman said: "Our clients took on a beach side shack at the turn of the century and have created a quality restaurant and beach bar, taking full account of the world-class location.
"During their time, the Gylly Café has become one of Cornwall’s best-known dining locations and in more recent years a hub of activity to include in-house bakery, take away, beach retail, and water sports.
"When the time came to hand over the reins, we were instructed to run a full and open marketing process which began in April this year.
"There was significant interest from the start, with many keen to own a prime business and award-winning location. Through this process Joe Healey and the team at Cyderhouse stood head and shoulders above the rest and understood the need to maintain the current standards for many years to come."
Joe Healey for Cyderhouse said: "We have admired Gylly Beach Café from afar for many years and when it became available, we knew we had to act quickly in order to secure it.
"It perfectly complements our long-term ambitions to own and operate unique quality venues. As seventh-generation Cornishmen, I and my brother Sam are keen to invest in the long term sustainable growth of our business, and venues like Gylly Beach suit our vision perfectly.
"We look forward to welcoming customers old and new."
It is almost a year to the day that it was revealed the Healey brothers had taken over another of Falmouth's best known establishments, 5 Degrees West, after 45 years in the Hancock family.
Now known as Fives Cyderhouse, it was taken over by Joe and Sam in August 2022.
Their family owns Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm at Penhallow near Truro, which has been making Cornish cyders, wines, spirits, juices, preserves and sauces for four decades.
