Falmouth Week began drawing to a close last night with a grand firework display on the penultimate day of festivities.
Always a popular event for many locals, Friday evening's display was no exception, with crowds of people gathered to watch.
Yesterday afternoon organisers confirmed the fireworks would be going ahead as planned - although with one small change.
Due to recent wet weather, the land on which the fireworks are usually set off was judged to be unusable.
Instead, they were set off at 10pm at a slightly lower location, on Trefusis Headland - although organisers promised the display would still be viewable within Falmouth Harbour.
A post on Falmouth Week’s Facebook page added: “The reason for the move is simply the weather – the usual location we utilise with kind permissions from the landowner is not usable due to the recent wet weather.”
Thankfully it remained dry throughout the display, providing perfect conditions for the colourful explosions to be reflected in the water of the harbour below.
Packet Camera Club members were out capturing the event, in this stunning selection of photos.
The display was staged thanks to a partnership between Falmouth Town Council and Smart Pyrotechnics.
