FROM going onboard a tall ship to seeing the crews and lots of live music – there will be lots to see and do during this week’s Tall Ships event in Falmouth.
Falmouth Tall Ships organisers are adding the final preparations for the event which begins tomorrow (Tuesday, August 15).
From 2pm on Tuesday, August 15 the Class A Vessels will be located within the A&P Falmouth Docks. Ticketed entry into the docks and then go onboard, will take place on the first three days of the event – August 15 to 17.
Gates open for the public from 1pm, with access to the ships from 2pm. Volunteers and Liaison Officers will be on hand to guide and support members of the public and there will also be a host of food, drink, charity stalls and pop-up events taking place on the Docks as thousands of visitors take the opportunity to see the magnificent ships up-close.

Tickets to access these ships are on sale and are priced at £5 for adults and £2.50 for children. People are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online and in advance from here: www.seetickets.com/tour/falmouth-tall-ships-tours-2023

Across the whole four-day event, visitors and residents can experience a lovely range of free music from local bands, shanty groups and choirs. This will take place across three sites in Falmouth; Event’s Square, Church Street Car Park and the Docks.
Several impressive and historic lifeboats will be on full display on ‘North Quay’, Custom House Quay from Tuesday until Thursday, August 17 between the times of 12pm and 4pm. Visitors can take advantage of free guided visits, RNLI donations are also welcome.
Organisers have also revealed other events and opportunities taking place across the event including a light and laser show, an energetic crew parade through the town centre, and impressive exhibitions at Falmouth Art Gallery, Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum. The free-to-view light and laser show will take place on Wednesday and Thursday evenings over Falmouth Harbour.
