Falmouth School's sixth form says it is delighted with the A-Level and Level 3 vocational results achieved by its students this year.
The school says the hard work, dedication, and perseverance of both students and staff has resulted in an impressive set of outcomes that highlight the school's commitment to providing an education environment where everyone succeeds.
"With a pass rate of 100% of students who sat A-Level exams and those that took vocational qualifications, Falmouth Sixth Form students have once again demonstrated their proficiency in various subjects, showcasing their depth of knowledge and critical thinking abilities. These results are a testament to the collaborative efforts of the students, their families, and the school's educators," said the school.
Among the standout achievements are:
- 100% Distinction* in sport and physical activity (equivalent of A* at A-Level).
"This is a fantastic result for our school and demonstrates the quality of learning which students are provided with at Falmouth Sixth Form," said a spokesperson.
- A 2023 cohort pass rate of 32% of students achieving A*-B grades at A-Level and 42% of Level 3 vocational students achieving Distinction Star/Distinction grades.
A significant number of students secured top grades in their respective subjects. Jacob Hurtel-Hymans achieved A*AAA in maths, further maths, physics and chemistry.
"Jacob is a remarkable student and as such will be taking up a place at the University of Bristol to read Physics with Astrophysics," said the school.
Katie Etchells achieved A*A*AB in extended project, geography, psychology and biology.
A great result that will allow her to read criminology and psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London.
Many other students have already received offers from prestigious universities across the country, spanning a wide range of disciplines including medicine, physics and illustration, to name but a few.
Level 3 vocational courses have also produced some amazing performances, says the school. One hundred per cent of vocational courses across the sixth form achieved pass or above. Many students have already started careers, as a direct result of passing their vocational course.
Danica Woodward, who achieved a grade B across the Level 3 diploma in childcare, equivalent three A-Levels, has already begun her career within the childcare sector.
Head of sixth form, James Worthington said: "These outstanding A-Level results are a reflection of the hard work, determination, and resilience demonstrated by our students.
