Two people were left needing hospital treatment for suspected knife wounds after three masked men allegedly entered a house in Cornwall last night and stole things.
Police were called to Furze Hill in Bodmin at around 10.30pm on Thursday, after a 999 call to say three masked men had entered the house and assaulted people inside. Property was also stolen.
One man, in his 20s, has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, but police are looking for two further suspects and witnesses are being asked to come forward.
A police cordon remains around the property and people can expect to see more police officers in the area while investigations continue.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Officers were called to the address at around 10.30pm on Thursday, August 24 to reports of three masked men having entered the premises and assaulted people inside.
“Two people sustained suspected knife wounds, and both required hospital treatment.
“Property was also stolen in the incident.
“A man in his 20s from Bodmin has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary – dwelling. He remains in police custody.
“Two further suspects are being sought by police.
“It is believed the victims were known to the suspects.
“There will be a heightened police presence in the area as enquiries are ongoing.”
