THIS autumn, Falmouth will be welcoming a new addition to its vibrant arts scene with the opening of a new tattoo studio by skincare brand, Stories & Ink.
Located in the heart of Falmouth harbour, adjacent to the Maritime Museum, the new studio will showcase local, national, and international artists. In doing so, it hopes to provide a boost to the local arts scene, as both local enthusiasts and tattoo tourists alike visit this wonderful part of Cornwall.
Recognising the need for a more approachable space for tattoo lovers, especially newcomers and individuals with a limited tattoo collection, Stories & Ink is seeking to "revolutionise" the industry's often intimidating image.
The studio aims to create a safe and inclusive environment for all people to express themselves through the art of tattooing. With more of a spa-like atmosphere than a traditional tattoo studio, it aims to cater for the growing demand for an immersive and tranquil tattooing experience.
Stories & Ink Studio, Falmouth, manager, Matilda Lacey, says: "We're thrilled to be joining the top tattoo shops in the SW. Our studio provides a welcoming and comforting experience to all clients who step through our door.
"Our close-knit team of three female artists, each offering their unique styles, will take good care of first-time rodeo and tattoo veteran appointments alike. Stay tuned for upcoming events at our beautiful Falmouth location.’"
Stories & Ink founder, Stu Jolley, says: "As a business owner I was drawn to Falmouth because of its almost California-like lifestyle, which fosters creativity and encourages artists to thrive. By establishing this studio, Stories & Ink aims to create a mecca for tattoo enthusiasts, allowing people to hang out, get tattooed and grab a coffee from the space.
"The studio's dedicated team of skilled and talented artists are committed to creating exceptional tattoos that tell the unique stories of each client."
