A POPULAR Cornish coffee brand has seen one of its coffee shops named as one of the best in a list compiled by a national newspaper.
Origin Coffee (Harbour Head) in Porthleven has been named one of The Times best coffee shops in an unexpected place.
Based in the centre of Porthleven, the coffee shop has received recognition from locals and those visiting the village.
The Times has complimented Origin’s “elegant latte art” and “huge flakey croissants” and described Porthleven as a “charming harbour town.”
As well as the coffee shop on slap bang in the village, Origin also has a roastery and a second café based on Tyresa Road, on the outskirts of Porthleven. The roastery café has plenty of outside seating in a quiet area.

Origin was launched in 2004 by owner and founder, Tom Sobey.
In June 2023, Origin Coffee was named one of the top-growing companies in this year’s FEBE Growth 100 list for its significant sales, revenue and profit against a backdrop of unprecedented economic challenges.
In 2022, Origin along with two other Cornish businesses was honoured by the late Queen with awards for being among the best in the country, with the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
Last year Origin roasted 264 tonnes of coffee, spending more than £1.6 million with coffee producers in Brazil, Colombia, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Peru with whom it has long-term and direction relationships, including annual visits that encourage social development and reduction in environmental impact.
