A CHEQUE for £600 has been presented to Helston Community’s Hospital League of Friends (LOF) for new relatives suite furniture.
The cheque was presented by Worshipful Master Phil Williams to Ann Ferris, the chair of the League of Friends.
The money had been raised at a family BBQ held at Martin Wallis's farm. Martin had organised games and ride-on for everyone to enjoy.
A spokesperson told the Packet: “The sun shone, and a great afternoon was had by the members of Penhallaz, True and Faithful and St Mellyon Lodges and their families supported the event.”

The money raised will now be used for new furniture in the Jack John Relative Suite at the hospital.
The relative’s suite is designed for family members of patients who are receiving end-of-life care or are very unwell and can be by their side at any point during the day.
Over the years, Helston Community Hospital's League of Friends have raised funds for new garden furniture for patients to enjoy, a new conservatory and sensory garden, medical equipment such as wheelchairs and blood pressure machines, and much more.
In July, the LOF organised the return of Helston Community Hospital's Annual Summer Fete, which saw more than £1,200 raised for the League of Friends to be able to buy essential equipment.
