AN area of the Cornsh coast has been ranked second in the world on a list of the best-secluded beaches to switch off at in 2024.
With September being the month when people tend to start thinking about their holidays for next year and online searches for 'secluded holidays' rising by 163% in the last three months, Sunsail, a yacht charter sailing holidays company, has analysed a combination of online search data, Trip Advisor reviews, information from official tourism boards, and geological data to find the top 25 most secluded beaches in the world for switching off in 2024.
Nanjizal Cove in St Levan, Cornwall, came in at number two on the list, second only to Kalanggaman Island Beach in the Philippines, which is only accessible by boat, has no electricity on the island, and has been hailed as a “picture perfect postcard of paradise”.
Described as a hidden spot described as having “incredible views” on Trip Advisor, Nanjizal Cove is a true hidden gem if you want to relax on an off-the-grid getaway and is accessible only by a 45-minute walk along one of Cornwall's many coastal paths.
Katrina Lawson, Head of Brand and Acquisitions at Sunsail, said: “With the recent rise in searches for off the grid and secluded holidays, we are delighted to reveal the best beaches in the world for switching off. Sailing and being on the water can help you switch off and enter that flow state of mind, where you can be truly present in the moment.
“Each beach on this list is unique in its offering, from golden sandy coves to pebbled bays, but what they have in common is their serenity and tranquillity.
“Whether you are already planning a 2024 sailing holiday at one of our 20+ worldwide destinations and looking forward to discovering pristine beaches and hidden gems only reachable by boat, or still looking for inspiration on where to book for your next trip away, we hope our list of the best beaches in the world for switching off helps you to find somewhere you can disconnect and recharge. Get ready to plan your next adventure!”
Other notable beaches making the list include Green Island Beach in Antigua in fourth place, Church Doors Cove in Pembrokeshire in eight place, and Lalaria Beach in Skiathos, Greece coming in at number 20.
