A car which ended up on its roof near Mabe partially blocking the road has prompted calls for action before someone is killed.
Emergency services were called to Antron Hill this afternoon after a vehicle ended up on its roof, another vehicle also appears to have been involved in a picture taken of the scene and posted on Facebook.
Inrix traffic management systems reported that the road was partially blocked with traffic queuing due to the accident. Luckily no injuries have been reported.
Posting the picture of the accident on Facebook, the poster said luckily no one was hurt but it the second overturned car this year on this stretch of Antron Hill.
They said something needs to be done about the speed limit on the road before someone dies.
Another warning posted on the Mabe parish Facebook page warned of the road being shut and said cars were still speeding past their home.
“Road possibly shut on Pug Corner,” it said. “There is an accident, to add to the congestion with the diversion. Everyone turning in my neighbour’s and our place!😩Another car on its roof. I hope they will shut the road from Longdowns, cars are still speeding past mine.”
Another poster said it appeared that three vehicles had been involved.
Devon and Cornwall Police said in a statement: “Police were called at 2.55pm today, 13 September 13, following a single-car collision on Antron Hill at Mabe Burnthouse.
“The car ended up on its roof.
“The fire service and ambulance attended.
“The road is blocked – still ongoing at scene.
“No injuries reported on our log at this time.”
