The wife of popular TV comedian Josh Widdicombe has been documenting the restoration of a Georgian house they bought in Mullion last year.
Former TV producer Rose Hanson and Josh bought Penrose House in 2022 and for the past year Rose has been documenting the restoration of the house on a special Instagram account.
On the account, called PenroseHouse with 25.9k followers, she says the reason they bought the house was because she loves Cornwall and has been coming here every year since she was a child.
Rose, an antique dealer and interior designer, is restoring the whole house and says she is hoping to have it available for rent next year. They still have a house in London.
She says she is “super excited” about the project which she bought in 2022 along with Josh and is restoring with the help of Dan and Charlie.
Posting on Instagram in March last year she said: “Welcome to my newest project, a beautiful Georgian house in Mullion, Cornwall that over 2023 will be renovated 🤞
“Thought it would be nice to document the journey on here so stick around if you want to see pictures of plasterboard transforming into pictures of paint samples. Can’t wait to show you how it’s going.”

Rose has had the house completely stripped back with the help of her builder who lives on site with his own gym and surfing gear as well as his dog!
As well as completely restoring the house they are also knocking down old extension with upstairs conservatory because there is substantial amount of damp and replaced with two double bedrooms and en-suites.
Not only has she been documenting the restoration of the house but has also been visiting local businesses, including Ellie’s Soul Kitchen on The Lizard which she said she hunted out and enjoyed halloumi while her companion enjoyed the slow cooked lamb tagging Josh saying he would "love this place".
