A tourist from Cornwall was killed when her electric Tuk Tuk scooter was struck by a vehicle from behind on the last full day of their holiday in Turkey, an inquest has heard.
Vikki Sutherns was a passenger on the back of the hired three wheeler trike when the crash happened on a dual carriageway near Manavgat.
An inquest in Truro heard that Vikki's partner Tom Tripp was driving the Tuk Tuk but was injured in the crash and has no recollection of what happened.
The coroner was told that Vikki and farmer Tom had asked the hire company for helmets but were not supplied with any as they were told helmets were not required in Turkey.
Vikki, a 51-year-old mum of two from St Allen, near Penzance, died from multiple injuries in hospital later the same day in November last year.
The inquest heard the road was in good condition and the weather was bright and sunny.
The artist-illustrator of children’s' books had been on a two-week holiday in Turkey and was due to fly home the day after the fatal crash.
The assistant coroner for Cornwall Emma Hillson recorded a road traffic collision conclusion.
