THE team behind a popular Cornish cafe have thanked the customers for their support after the announcement the cafe will close its doors for good. 

The team at Lakeside Cabin Café on the outskirts of St Ives have announced that they will close its doors for good on Friday, September 29.

The café which is based in Lelant has been described as an ‘amazing hidden gem’ and has received plenty of positive feedback on its social media page and on TripAdvisor.

However, the Lakeside Cabin Café team have now made the difficult decision to shut down for good.

“We cannot begin to thank you for all the support you've shown us during our time at the cafe - we couldn't have done it without you.

“We may need to close as soon as the end of next week to give us enough time to remove all our things from the cafe before the end of our tenancy.

"We would absolutely LOVE to see any of you between now and then.”

One said: “Oh no this can't be. Amazing cakes, food, and friendly staff.  Will be sadly missed by all. Sending you good luck for the future" whilst another commented: “So sad to hear that you are closing, our trips to Cornwall were not complete without a visit to see you guys.

"Good luck in wherever life takes now, you'll be missed.”

Following the announcement on Monday, the team shared a follow-up post on its Facebook page thanking customers for all the support they have shown. It said: “We just wanted to say the most enormous 'thank you' for the amazing amount of love and support you've shown us - we are so incredibly blessed to have not just customers but friends - we are SO grateful to you.”
