In a post on Facebook headed: “A little news from us” Elliot and Becca Thompson, the owners of the Star and Garter and Georgian townhouse with boutique apartments & award winning restaurant at the top of Falmouth High Street, said they made the decision over a year ago.

“We made the decision due to the many challenges facing hospitality,” they said.

They said in its place they had created two things. The first was “Cocorico" helmed Star & Garter’s head chef and our good friend, Robert Bunny.

“You can expect the same style and quality of food that we were known for at a very affordable price point. The famous roasts continue every Sunday with rotisserie chicken being the star of the show the rest of the week alongside seasonal specials,” they said.

They said they have also created two “beautifully appointed” harbour view en-suite rooms to add to their busy apartments which can now be booked.

“We will continue to evolve, as we have always done over the past ten years, so that our lovely townhouse at the top of Falmouth’s old high street, can continue to thrive,” they said.

“Thank you for your kindness.”
