CHILDREN at Breage CE School and Nursery celebrated their Cornish heritage and were joined by a special guest.
On Tuesday, October 3, the pupils of Breage welcomed Will Keating into the school where he ran workshops throughout the day.
Each class were taught how to sing sea shanties and Cornish songs.
The day ended with a performance in Breaney Chapel where Will and the children sang for parents, friends, and the local community.
Will who is best known for singing Harry Glasson’s ‘Cornwall My Home’ has performed at various gigs across Cornwall and showcases his passion for the Duchy through his music.

He has played at many festivals and venues over the last few years, solo, duo and with The Oggymen. These include, The Hall for Cornwall, Minack Theatre, Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival, Porthleven Food and Music Festival, Tunes in the Dunes, Falmouth Oyster Festival, Looe Music Festival and Looe Saves the Day.
In December 2022, Will released an emotional single reflecting Cornwall’s food poverty and rising male suicide rates amid the cost-of-living crisis.
He was asked to write a song to perform at the UK Food Poverty Forum Conference which was held in Truro. However, Will decided to adapt a song called Ordinary Man, written by Peter Hames.
