THE site of a new service hub in Falmouth that will provide adult education and day services has been chosen by Cornwall Council.
Tregenver, on Tregenver Road, has been selected as the site of a new service hub providing adult day care, adult education, registrars, a family hub, a safe and well centre, and a contact centre in Falmouth.
According to Falmouth Town Council, the site was chosen as part of Cornwall Council's strategy to do something different with the buildings they deliver services from.
Explaining its decision on the Let's Talk website, Cornwall Council said: "A review of Falmouth and the surrounding area has been carried out and, after considering various options, we have decided to create a new service hub at Tregenver Road which is currently used by Adult Education and Adult Day Services.
"We will continue to provide Adult Education and Adult Day Services in the hub, as well as additional services including Registrars, our Children and Family services and Safe and Well services. The Family Hub services provided from The Lighthouse Family Hub will continue to operate due to the catchment area it serves."
In an update on its social media page, Falmouth Town Council said: "Cornwall Council have chosen Tregenver on Tregenver Road to be the site of their new service hub in Falmouth. The site was chosen as part of Cornwall Council's strategy to do something different with the buildings they deliver services from.
"In choosing Tregenver, Cornwall Council are looking to create a single space from where they can meet the needs of the local community in Falmouth and offer customers access to multiple services, including Adult Day Care, Adult Education, Registrars, a Family Hub, a Safe and Well Centre and a contact centre."
