A CHRISTMAS Festival taking place in Padstow from December 7-10 is now just a few short weeks away.
Final preparations are well underway at Sharp’s Brewery in Rock, just across the estuary from Padstow. Sharp’s has supported the festival since its inception, and for many years has been the Headline Sponsor of this volunteer-run event. In 2023 Sharp’s will be on the ground delivering a host of award-winning beers and exciting activities such as the, bookable-in-advance, Solar Wave Silent Bistro, all on the town's picturesque harbour.
Ed Hughes, Sharp’s Beer Sommelier, will be hosting a demonstration in the Sharp’s Chef’s Theatre. He said: “Being based across the Camel Estuary in Rock, the Christmas Festival is so important to us in celebrating the beautiful area in which we live and work.
"We all love catching up with all our UK-wide chef friends and showcasing all our beers to our loyal customers, as well as introducing them to new ones. It’s not an overstatement to say that the Padstow Christmas Festival is the highlight of our busy events calendar and the whole of the Sharp’s team is looking forward to it with great excitement."
Sharp’s Brand Activation Manager Nick White said: "Padstow Christmas Festival is a great celebration of food & drink, bringing talented chef friends and makers together. Putting this festival on the Padstow harbourside, surrounded by water and close to bustling pubs and shops, makes for a uniquely North Cornish Event.
"We’re delighted to continue as headline sponsors, and to be bringing a host of experiences, collaborations and, of course, beers to kick off the festive season in style."
Festivalgoers are encouraged to make their way into the Christmas Market where they’ll find the friendly Sharp’s team on their tasting bar giving out tasters of their much-loved brews.
For 2023 there are two very special limited-edition beers, one brewed specially for the festival. This is a Red IPA brewed with maple syrup, orange and grapefruit note dry-hops and Sharp’s will have this for tasting on their bar within the Christmas Market.
The other is a Belgian Blonde beer, brewed with honey and a Belgian yeast strain which delivers fruit and spice aromas. Both limited editions have yet to be named, and these will be revealed in the coming weeks in the run-up to the Festival itself.
The innovation-led Sharp’s Solar Wave Silent Bistro will be taking place in Padstow’s Sharp’s Festival Kitchen from Thursday, December 7, to Saturday, December 9. Last seen at Boxpark Shoreditch and Rock Oyster Festival, this unique sensory experience involves the delivery of specially chosen sounds through headphones while the guests taste beer and food in a new way.
To purchase tickets for the 2023 Solar Wave Silent Bistro people should go to: www.ticketsource.co.uk/padstowchristmasfestival2023
If tickets have sold out, people should head to the Sharp’s Brewery social media channels to have a chance to win Silent Bistro tickets in the days running up to the festival.
