FALMOUTH Rugby Football Club has given an update on the upcoming planned parking changes at the Recreation Ground.
As communicated at its Annual General Meeting in the summer, the club will be bringing in parking charges to the hard-standing perimeters to support the financial future of the club.
These physical changes will be taking place this week, with the move towards the ANPR parking system going live in the coming weeks.
The main points that the club say they would like to re-iterate are:
- All club members, guests, and official users and visitors of the club will be exempt and continue to receive free parking throughout the season.
- There will be a 30-minute grace period for non-members.
According to the club, official guests and users of the club will be able to provide their car registration in the clubhouse via a tablet situated on the clubhouse bar to avoid charges when visiting the club.
The tariff will be in line with other town car parks and aimed at over three-hour stays to supplement parking within Falmouth. Falmouth Rugby Club is looking to provide daytime parking for motorhomes and camper vans, however, there is no intention to offer any overnight parking.
Although the physical parking system is being installed currently, it is not yet live, when a confirmed start time has been agreed this will be shared on Falmouth Rugby social media channels. Future payments will be able to be made via credit card, Ring Go app, or phone when the system goes live.
Further information can be found on the club's Q&A on the parking project on their website (www.falmouthrugbyclub.co.uk/parking) or by emailing businessmanager@falmouthrugbyclub.co.uk
Falmouth Rugby Committee has also said they will be reviewing the system periodically to ensure it is serving their club members in the best possible way to ensure the ground and primary functions of rugby and club events are not affected.
The club is advising also all current members to ensure their current vehicle registration is up to date with the clubhouse manager. New members are always welcome at Falmouth Rugby Football Club, please enquire on match days for more information from the friendly team situated at the bar.
