A man in his 60s has been taken to hospital after being recovered from a river in Truro this afternoon (Monday)
Police, fire, and the ambulance service were called to the scene at 2.40pm following concerns for the welfare of a man in Truro River.
The gentleman was believed to have slipped down the bank and entered the water new Furniss Island, Truro. He was recovered by fire crews and treated at the scene before being transferred to Royal Cornwall Hospital where he is condition is said not believed to be serious.
A force spokesperson said: “Police were called at 2.40pm today, 13 November, following concerns for the welfare of a man in Truro River.
“The man is believed to have slipped down the bank and entered the water near Furniss Island, Truro.
“Police, fire, and ambulance attended.
“The man in his 60s was recovered from the water by the fire service.
“He was treated at the scene and taken to Treliske Hospital. His condition is not believed serious at this time.”
